Down To You
Starring: Freddie Prinze Jr., Julia Stiles, Henry Winkler
Directed By: Kris Isacsson
Alright, before I even begin this review, I want to clarify something, I disliked this movie because it was awful, not because I hate so called "chick flicks". So with that said I begin. What price is love? In this horrendous movie, by first time writer-director Kris Isacsson, we find out in laborous stretches of absolute boredom and horrible acting and dialogue. First off, the movie starts with Freddie Prinze Jr.'s character, Al, talking to the camera....please, it worked for Ferris Bueller's Day Off, but not for this. Not only does his character talk to the camera, so does his love interest played by Julia Stiles as Imogen, (don't ask). I guess Isacsson thought that by giving Stile's character an interesting name it would make the movie more clever. It didn't. Instead we get these two, who are "perfect" for each other, but end up hating each other and breaking up. Well so their story takes up a good 95% of the movie, the other 5% is dedicated to can Al get over the loss of Imogen, or will he end up eternally lost. Or will he try and get Imogen back (even after she cheats on him!). But hey I'm not saying Al is a complete sucker, but the movie did suck. From the awful dialogue, to the slow ass pace, to the supposedly- sentimental moments. But hey when something sucks, it sucks at the core. D-
